Spot ethanol prices in Chicago tracked corn and gasoline futures higher in early trade Tuesday, but the upside for ethanol was curbed by talk of excess supply at some key trade hubs. Trade sources expect to see an overall ethanol stock draw for the week-ended Dec. 19. Most traders are starting to close their books for the year after meeting their supply requirements. Tuesday, transfer ethanol at Argo was talked at a $1.70 to $1.73 gal bid/ask, up 0.5 cents. Argo ethanol for any December transfer was talked at a $1.67 to $1.71 gallon bid/ask and Rule 11 traded at $1.67 gallon.
