Spot ethanol values moved higher at destination markets along the West Coast and at the New York Harbor in early trade Wednesday, as supply deliveries remain hampered by logistical issues.

"Production (is) not going to where it needs to go," a trader commented, saying shippers are still having trouble securing railcars, an issue that has plagued the ethanol industry this year, although some see the problem easing.

New York Harbor spot ethanol values were talked at $2.225 per gallon, up 7.5 cents on the session while West Coast product was up 5.0 cents at $2.50 per gallon.
