Argo Spot Ethanol Slumps With Corn Futures Ahead of USDA Data

Spot ethanol prices in Chicago eased in early trade Friday on the back of lower Chicago Board of Trade corn futures ahead of the release at 11:00 a.m. CDT of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report. The report is expected to forecast domestic corn production at 14.523 billion bushels on yields of 174.7 bushels an acre, both record levels. Today in-tank transfer Argo ethanol is talked at a $1.55 to $1.58 gallon bid/ask spread for a 2.25cts loss, down from a trade Thursday at a $1.60 bbl one-week high.
