Chicago Spot Ethanol Prices Ease Despite Stock Draw

U.S. spot ethanol prices traded lower in Chicago despite data showing a weekly stock draw for ethanol in the United States. Energy Information Administration's data showed total ethanol stocks fell 177,000 bbl to 18.651 million bbl during the week ended Oct. 3, down from an 18-month high at 18.8 million bbl posted the prior month. Plant production rose 20,000 bpd last week to 901,000 bpd, while blender inputs, a proxy for ethanol demand, eased 4,000 bpd to 858,000 bpd. Any October transfer ethanol at Argo traded at $1.56 gallon for a 0.5cts loss while Chicago ethanol traded under Rule 11 for ethanol for this week transit to the East Coast and Gulf Coast traded at $1.58 gallon for a 1.5cts loss.
