Spot Ethanol Extends Higher on Renewed Buying Interest

U.S. spot ethanol prices extended higher Tuesday on the back of renewed buying interest and a CBOT corn futures rally after a report showed the nation's corn harvest has been slowed by rainy weather. Traders await weekly ethanol supply data due out Wednesday from the Energy Information Administration. Today transfer ethanol at Argo near Chicago traded at $1.53 and $1.54 a gallon, up 3.0cts on the day. New York Harbor barge delivered today talked at a $1.62 to $1.64 gallon bid/ask spread while any October barges at a $1.66 to $1.68 gallon bid/ask spread for a 5.0cts gain on the day.
