Nebraska, California Spot Ethanol Prices Remain under Pressure
Spot ethanol prices traded lower in Nebraska and on the West Coast amid excess ethanol supply and a lack of buying interest in the cash market.
Bearish sentiment continues to weigh on ethanol prices despite data showing inventories and plant production fell while demand for ethanol blending rose during the week-ended Sept. 19.
Prompt California ethanol traded at $1.72 per gallon, down 4.0 cents, while December ethanol traded at $1.67 per gallon. Next week delivered ethanol in the Pacific Northwest traded at $1.64 per gallon, down about 6.0 cents while Nebraska prompt ethanol traded at $1.40 per gallon, down 8.0 cents.
