Argo, NYH Spot Ethanol Prices Boosted by EIA Supply Data

Spot ethanol prices rose Wednesday after new federal data showed ethanol inventories were drawn down 200,000 barrels (bbl) to 18.6 million bbl during the week-ended Sept. 19, easing from an 18-month high a week prior. The data also showed U.S. production fell to an 889,000-barrel-per-day (bpd) six-month low, while demand rose 4.5% during the week profiled. Prompt Argo ethanol was talked at a $1.62 to $1.65 gallon bid/ask spread for a gain of 2.5 cents. New York Harbor October ethanol barges were talked at a $1.68 to $1.72 gallon bid/ask spread for a 1.5 cent gain.
