Chicago, California Ethanol Prices Slump on Weakening Demand
Chicago and California spot ethanol prices slumped in a very thin trade session Tuesday afternoon on slowing demand after the Labor Day holiday weekend. Price declines by the corn and gasoline futures markets added to the sell-off for physical ethanol. Prompt ethanol delivered at the Argo hub was pegged at $2.255 gallon for a daily loss of 1.5cts while prompt delivered Northern California ethanol traded at $2.40 gallon for a session loss of 3.0cts.
