Southeast Spot Ethanol Rally on Limited Regional Supply
Spot ethanol prices were mixed in early trade Tuesday as traders weighed higher gasoline prices against lower corn prices, but the biggest surprise was a 10 cents spike in promptly delivered ethanol to Tampa, Fla., where a trade was reported done at $2.40 per gallon.
The increase is underpinned by a lack of adequate supply in the Southeast, sources said. The market is awaiting weekly federal ethanol supply data due out tomorrow midmorning.
