Argo Spot Ethanol Prices Nudge Higher in Thin Trade

U.S. spot ethanol prices edged higher in Chicago while little changed in other hubs during a thinly-traded afternoon session, despite the U.S. Department of Agriculture's new report raising the nation's corn supply estimates.

The Energy Information Administration's weekly ethanol supply and demand report is due out Wednesday. Today transfer ethanol at the Argo hub near Chicago was talked at a $2.21 to $2.25 per gallon bid/ask spread, up 1.0 cent on the day. Any August Argo was pegged at $2.09 per gallon, up 2.0 cents on the day.
