U.S. spot biodiesel prices stalled this week, with prices flat Friday morning after gaining 3.0 cents so far this week on higher New York Mercantile Exchange ULSD futures.

"Trade is just dead, quiet," commented Jerrod Kitt, strategist for the Linn Group in Chicago, Illinois. "Seventy-five percent of the people I talk to were on vacation."

Spot biodiesel price was heard at $3.60 per gallon for SME B100 at both Chicago and New York Harbor. Houston SME B100 biodiesel was pegged at $3.55 per gallon.

By contrast, 2014 Renewable Identification Number credits for D4 biomass based diesel has been active, trading several times this morning at 56.5 cents, 0.75 cents over the price at the end of last week.
