New York, Chicago Spot Ethanol Prices Gain on Supply Data
Spot ethanol prices trade higher in Chicago and New York Thursday after a sharp draw in domestic supplies was reported Wednesday, trade sources said, citing federal data, which also show production fell to a three-month low last week due to an issue at one plant. A rally for RBOB futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange also boosted ethanol prices.
Today transfer ethanol at the Argo hub near Chicago traded at $2.15 per gallon, up 3.0 cents on the day. An August barge at the New York Harbor traded at $2.15 and $2.16 per gallon, up 1.0 cent. A September Harbor barge traded at $2.05, $2.09 and $2.10 per gallon, up 2.0 cents for the day.
