Spot Ethanol Rebounds on Demand, Higher Corn Futures
Spot ethanol prices rebounded from last week's lows during a thinly traded early session Monday, boosted by renewed buying interest and higher Chicago Mercantile Exchange corn futures.
"(Market) is up 1 to 2 cents on corn being up and general ethanol demand still fairly good," said a trader. Today transfer ethanol at the Argo hub near Chicago traded early at $2.13 per gallon, up 5.0 cents.
August barged ethanol at the New York Harbor was talked at $2.21 to $2.24 per gallon, up 5.0 cents. This week shipment ethanol to California was talked at a $2.30 to $2.33 per gallon bid/ask spread, up 4.5 cents on the session.
