Spot Ethanol Prices Boosted by Logistics, Supply Worries
Spot ethanol prices edged higher early Monday in Chicago, New York and California as continued supply concerns offset weaker corn futures trade on the Chicago Board of Trade. Federal data showed domestic output declined during the week-ended July 4 eased while shipments to key markets has been delayed due to ongoing problems with logistics. Prompt ethanol at the Argo hub traded $2.14 gallon for a 1.5 cent gain while July barge at the New York Harbor was pegged at $2.28 gallon for a 0.5 cent gain. Prompt California ethanol was valued at $2.33 gallon, up 2.0 cents.
