Easing Supply Concerns Prompt Selloff for Spot Ethanol

The spot ethanol market sold off during early afternoon trade Thursday, extending midweek losses on the back of rising domestic supplies and a retreat by Chicago Board of Trade corn futures.

Fuel ethanol for Friday delivery at the Argo hub near Chicago was bid at $2.25 and offered at $2.30 gallon, down 4.5 cents. May delivered New York Harbor ethanol barge was pegged at a $2.35 to $2.40 gallon bid/ask spread, down 5.5 cents, with California delivered ethanol traded at $2.45 per gallon, down 12.5 cents.
