Chicago, New York Ethanol Values Fall on Growing Supplies

Spot ethanol prices in New York and Chicago declined in early trade Wednesday after the Energy Information Administration reported U.S. ethanol stocks rose 700,000 bbl or 4.2% to a 2-1/2-month high of 17.2 million gallons during the week-ended Apr. 25. Supplies along the East Coast climbed to a near eight-month high of 5.9 million bbl.

Prompt ethanol at Argo hub near Chicago was talked at a $2.33 to $2.35 per gallon bid/ask spread, down 3.0 cents. An early May ethanol barge at the New York Harbor was discussed at a $2.43 to $2.45 per gallon bid/ask spread, down 3.5 cents on the day.
