Chicago, New York Spot Ethanol Prices Gain in Choppy Trade

U.S. spot ethanol prices were mixed in lackluster early trade ahead of federal weekly ethanol supply and demand data due out Wednesday morning.

The market has been choppy recently with futures prices rising the past two sessions up on gains by Chicago Board of Trade corn futures amid concerns about delays to U.S. crop planting.

Prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo hub near Chicago was valued early at $2.38 per gallon, up 1.0 cent on the day. A May-delivered ethanol barge at the New York Harbor was discussed at a $2.45 to $2.50 per gallon bid/ask spread, up 0.5 cents on the day.
