Spot Ethanol Prices Advance on Demand, Higher Corn Futures

Spot ethanol prices advanced Tuesday afternoon on rising demand heading into the summer peak U.S. driving season, with higher Chicago Board of Trade corn futures also lending support. Ethanol's upside was limited, however, by expectations that federal supply data due Wednesday would show ramped up domestic production. Prompt Argo ethanol was pegged at roughly $2.535 gallon Tuesday, up 1.5cts on the day. April delivered ethanol barge at the New York Harbor was talked 2.5cts higher at a $2.45 to $2.50 gallon bid/ask spread.
