Spot Ethanol Prices Retreat on Improving Supply Availability
Spot ethanol prices moved down across the country in lackluster trade as supply availability continues to improve. "There's still a lot of inventory here," said a trader in the West Coast. Energy Information Administration data released last week showed domestic ethanol stocks climbing 3.4% in the week-ended Apr. 4 to a five-week high of 16.4 million bbl.
In today's trade, prompt delivered ethanol at Arizona, was valued at $3.18 per gallon, down 12.0 cents. Argo prompt ethanol was assessed at $2.825 per gallon, down 7.5 cents, with ethanol barge April delivery in the New York Harbor seen at $2.725 per gallon, down 3.5 cents.
