Spot Ethanol Prices Mostly Lower on Bearish Supply Data
Spot ethanol prices mostly moved lower after federal data showed a build in weekly ethanol supplies. The Energy Information Administration reported domestic ethanol inventories climbed 500,000 barrels (bbl), or 3.4%, to a five-week high of 16.4 million bbl during the week-ended Apr. 4, boosted by rising imports and deliveries that reached terminals at destination markets in the East and Gulf coasts. Prompt Argo ethanol talked at $2.80 gallon, down a penny, while prompt New York Harbor ethanol barge was pegged at $2.85 gallon, down 10 cents on the day.
