Spot ethanol prices plunged in early trade as the market awaits weekly data on ethanol supply from the Energy Information Administration and monthly data on corn and ethanol from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Both data sets are due out Wednesday with market forecasts on what the reports would show mixed. Prompt Argo ethanol talked this morning at a $2.80 per gallon while prompt New York Harbor ethanol barge was offered at $3.20 per gallon, both down 20.0 cents. The market has been volatile in recent days.
