Chicago spot ethanol prices advanced as excess supply was being cleared in the Midwest with more product deliveries to New York and the West Coast pressing ethanol values in those destination markets lower.

"We have about a 10-day supply with a bunch of cars on the way," said a West Coast trader. Prompt ethanol barge at the New York Harbor was offered at $3.38 per gallon without a bid, down 3.0 cents on the session. Prompt delivered ethanol to Calif. sunk 35.0 cents to a $2.80 to $2.85 per gallon bid/ask while prompt ethanol in Ariz. was offered at $2.95 gallon, down 27.5 cents. Argo ethanol traded early at $2.32 gallon, up 1.0 cents.
