Spot ethanol prices at the Argo hub near Chicago, in the New York Harbor and along the West Coast rose in early afternoon trade after the Energy Information Administration said total ethanol stocks dropped 400,000 bbl to 16.6 million bbl as domestic production fell 1.2% while demand increased 1.3% during the last week of February.

Prompt delivered Argo ethanol was valued 3 cents higher at $2.29 per gallon while prompt delivered New York Harbor ethanol barge was valued 7 cents higher at $3.30 per gallon. Northern California prompt ethanol prices were talked 7.5 cents higher at $3.375 per gallon.
