Restart of Ethanol Plants Pressure Spot Prices
After Thursday's rally, spot ethanol traded lower in Chicago and New York during a thinly traded early Friday session amid easing worries about supply after Wisconsin ethanol plants shut down earlier this week resumed operations at midweek. Today in-tank transfer ethanol at the Argo hub near Chicago traded at $1.87 gallon, down 4.0cts, while an ethanol barge for February delivery at the New York Harbor was valued at a $2.13 gallon, down 2.0cts on the day.
