West Coast Spot Ethanol Prices Lifted by Supply Worries

Spot ethanol prices along the West Coast traded higher today, boosted by supply concerns specific to that region while New York Harbor prices were unchanged and prompt Argo hubs near Chicago traded a tad lower. A trade source said supply was running low in northern California and Oregon.

This week shipment to San Francisco traded at $2.17 per gallon, up 7 cents on the day, while prompt delivered ethanol traded at $2.14 per gallon, up 5 cents. Today transfer ethanol at Argo hub near Chicago traded at $1.80 gallon, down 0.5 cents on the day, while February New York Harbor ethanol was talked at a $2.06 to $2.10 per gallon bid/ask, unchanged on the day.
