Spot Ethanol Prices Rally on Supply Concerns
Spot ethanol prices rallied Friday after federal data released late morning showed U.S. ethanol supplies declined to a three-week low of 15.58 million bbl during the week-ended Dec. 27, confirming recent talk of supply shortages at some of the nation's key trade hubs.
Prompt delivered ethanol at the New York Harbor was valued at $2.40 per gallon, up 5.0 cents on the day, while today ethanol transfer at the Argo terminal near Chicago was talked at $2.20 per gallon for a gain of 5.0 cents. Prompt delivered northern California was said to have been offered at $2.65 per gallon, gaining 5.5 cents for the day.
