Spot ethanol prices at the Argo supply hub east of Chicago rose 2.0 cents in thin, pre-holiday trade early Monday.

"It's obviously a very thin market there this week," a trader said. "It doesn't take much to move things."

Chicago spot ethanol traded at $2.22 per gallon while any-December ethanol changed hands at $2.15 per gallon, up 1.0 cent from Friday.

"We are kind of in holiday trade," commented Brandon Marshall, Northstar Commodity of Minneapolis, Minn. "There's not much happening today."
