High U.S. corn prices due to drought and South American competition have caused Morocco's purchasing of U.S. corn and dried distillers grains with solubles to plummet. However, the U.S. Grains Council remains optimistic about rebuilding the market in that country, according to an article on the council's website (http://bit.ly/…).

The council's goal is to create consistent customer service in Morocco to rebuild demand. Recently, the council sponsored some key individuals from the Moroccan feed industry who are major end users of U.S. corn, DDGS, corn gluten meal and corn gluten feed.

The team traveled to the U.S. where they met with U.S. corn producers, U.S. exporters and suppliers to learn more about U.S. corn supply and quality. They also toured an ethanol plant where council members promoted DDGS.

The council plans to continue to work with the Moroccan feed industry to rebuild demand for U.S. grains and co-products.
