Spot Ethanol Prices Gain on Supply Shortages
U.S. spot ethanol prices rallied in early trade Friday amid growing concerns about a tight supply-demand balance. New York Harbor barged December ethanol was assessed at $3.60 gallon, up 15cts on the session, while today transfer ethanol at Argo terminal near Chicago traded 13cts higher at $2.65 gallon. "There's physical shortage of product," said a trader. "Stocks are very low. East Coast is almost empty. Production is down."
