Spot ethanol prices for prompt delivery in the New York Harbor skyrocketed 25.0 cents to $3.25 per gallon Thursday, with spot values squeezed higher on short supply, sources said.

"New York has no barrels available this week," a trade source said.

By contrast, January delivered NYH barge traded at $2.36 this morning.

Ethanol supply was drawn down 195,000 barrels (bbl) in the East Coast PADD 1 region during the week-ended Nov. 29 to a 4.755 million bbl record low Energy Information Administration data shows, with weekly ethanol data starting June 2010.
