U.S. Spot Ethanol Prices Higher as Data Shows Supply Draw

U.S. spot ethanol prices moved higher in the New York Harbor and at the Argo hub near Chicago on Wednesday, boosted by data showing a decline in domestic ethanol inventories. Total U.S. ethanol supply dropped 200,000 bbl or 1.2% to 16.3 million bbl during the week-ended June 21 despite an increase in domestic production, the Energy Information Administration reported today. Total supplies are down 4.5 million bbl or 21.5% from a year ago. Prompt delivered ethanol at Argo traded early at $2.50 gallon, up 2.5cts on the day. New York Harbor transit barge traded at $2.54 gallon, up 2.0cts on the day.
