U.S. spot ethanol prices were higher midday Tuesday after the three-day Memorial Day weekend, lifted by advancing Chicago Board of Trade corn futures. "I think ethanol is just moving up with corn market today," Tomm Pfitzenmaier, analyst for Summit Commodities of Des Moines, Iowa, said this morning. "I suppose the fact that the stock the market's up and crude oil is up is probably helping too."

Another trade source agreed. "Yeah, corn's pushing everything up," he said.
