Spot Ethanol Track Corn Futures Down as Planting Improves

U.S. spot ethanol prices were lower in New York, Chicago and along the West Coast in early trade Monday, declining on the back of a retreat by Chicago Board of Trade corn futures.
"Corn is down because crop is getting planted and the situation is starting to look better," said Tomm Pfitzenmaier, an analyst at Summit Commodity Brokerage in Des Moines, Iowa.
