Spot Ethanol Rallies as Wet Weather Delays Corn Planting

Spot ethanol prices tracked a rally for Chicago Board of Trade corn futures amid concern about planting delays due to ongoing cold, wet weather in the Midwest.

The delay would reduce corn yields and ethanol supply later this year, analysts said. "Everything is expensive today," said a trade source. "Deferred prices will get more expensive every day we don't plant corn, which means yields will be smaller. It gets worse from here."
