Spot ethanol prices advanced Friday on concerns about prompt supply of the fuel and risk-on trade that also boosted other commodities markets, including corn futures on the Chicago Board of Trade.

A trade source said physical product supply continues to be tight across the nation while buying interest has picked up ahead of the weekend break. "Ethanol is stronger on fundamentals ... though dead cat bounce better describes the movement in ethanol prices," said the source.
