Spot ethanol prices moved sharply lower Friday after steep gains a day prior, with sources saying traders were either rebalancing their portfolios or have already filled their short-term supply requirements, limiting buying interest. The market has been volatile throughout the week, with talk of tight physical supply in hubs along the East and West coasts due to limited railcars countering midweek data showing increases in domestic production and total inventories for last week.
