With its thriving poultry industry, Peru could prove to be a growing market for U.S.-produced dried distillers grains with solubles, according to an article on The Poultry Site (http://bit.ly/…).

About 68% of chicken feed in Peru is yellow corn and the country's poultry market is a major user of yellow corn. High prices and strong demand for yellow corn is driving increased production, growing for the past five years in a row.

Because of this huge appetite for corn, Peruvian poultry and dairy operations are testing DDGS in their feed since the country first imported U.S. DDGS in 2010. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the prospective market for alternative corn products such as DDGS in Peru could potentially total at least 100,000 million tons per year.
