Rising U.S. Output Pressures Spot Ethanol Prices

Spot ethanol prices spiraled lower again in Chicago and New York in early trade Thursday, after news that plants idled at the end of last year are resuming operation.
Valero Renewable Fuels this morning confirmed its 110 million gallon per year Albion ethanol plant in Nebraska is back on line, restarted in early February as margins improved in that specific market. Midweek released federal data detailed production at the nation's plants ramped up for the second straight week.
