Spot ethanol prices slipped fractionally in Chicago and New York but remained flat along the West Coast after federal data showed production of ethanol from plants across the nation rose 1.0% to 792,000 bpd in the week-ended Jan. 18, with imports up 148% to 67,000 bpd for the week.

Most of the ethanol imports were received along the East Coast. Energy Information Administration's data also detailed a 278,000 bbl draw from ethanol stocks to 20.1 million bbl for last week while implied demand was up 0.8% to 777,000 bpd.
