Spot Ethanol Prices Boosted by Corn Gains after USDA Report
Spot ethanol prices spiked in notional assessment after a bullish federal crop report spurred a rally on Chicago Board of Trade corn futures to a three-week high.
Actual ethanol trades weren't reported, with spot price indications volatile, trade sources said, adding most traders were staying on the sidelines for the time being.
Argo spot prices were talked at a $2.26 to $2.28 gal bid/ask, up 6.0 cents on the session, while spot Houston prices were seen at a $2.34 to $2.38 gal bid/ask, up 6.0 cents. Oregon spot prices were shown at a $2.33 to $2.35 gal bid/ask, up 4.0 cents.
