Spot Ethanol Prices Shallowly Mixed Ahead of Supply Data

Spot ethanol prices were shallowly mixed in a thinly-traded session early Thursday, with traders awaiting weekly inventory data due out Friday.

Markets have come under pressure recently from a lack of buying interest, while supply for ethanol is in excess. January delivered ethanol at the Argo hub near Chicago traded early at $2.20 gallon, while ethanol for Dec. 31 delivery is now discussed in a $2.18 to $2.20 gallon bid/ask spread, down 0.5 cents on the day. Prompt New York Harbor prices were talked at $2.28 gallon, up 0.5 cents, while Pacific Northwest prices were talked in a $2.25 to $2.27 gallon bid/ask range, up 0.5 cents.
