Spot Ethanol Prices Pressed Down by Weak Demand, Corn Losses
Spot ethanol prices were talked lower during a lackluster session early Wednesday, with the downside driven by weak demand for blending, excess ethanol supply and falling Chicago Board of Trade corn futures, a trade source said.
Prompt December ethanol at the Argo hub was pegged notionally at a $2.22 to $2.23 gallon bid/ask spread, down 1.5 cents on the day, while New York Harbor prompt ethanol was assessed early at a $2.29 gallon, down 3 cents on the session.
