Spot Ethanol Prices Pressed Lower by Soft Demand
Spot ethanol prices were mostly lower during a very thin trade session early Thursday after data released late morning showed demand for ethanol eased for the fourth consecutive week last week. The Energy Information Administration reported a 1,000 barrels per day decline in refiner and blender net inputs for the week-ended Nov. 9 to 822,000 bpd. The slippage in ethanol inputs comes despite a 601,000 bpd surge in implied demand for gasoline to an 8.908 million bpd two-month high.
