The biodiesel infrastructure in the northeast is slowly crawling back to operations in the wake of last week's Superstorm Sandy that slammed into the Northeast.

For example, Kinder Morgan spokeswoman Emily Mir in an emailed statement this morning said that while there has been no additional impact from Wednesday's snow storm, the Carteret, N.J. terminal remains on portable generator power. The hurricane damaged the 7.83 million bbl terminal and caused a 238 bbl biodiesel spill.

"Things are still slow here and with terminals down everything is rough," reported Katirina Tracy, chief operating officer for CIMA Green L.L.C. of Park Ridge New Jersey, a biodiesel trading company.

Trade sources reported no biodiesel physical or RIN trading activity Wednesday or this morning in the Northeast and the markets have been quiet nationwide.
