U.S. spot ethanol prices were mixed in a lackluster trade session early today, with the U.S. presidential election sucking the oxygen out of the market.

Sources said there were only a few traders participating in the market today, while others were reluctant to commit due to uncertainty.

The New York Harbor market was particularly quiet, since federal and New York state officials waived some fuel rules and several product terminals remained closed a week after Hurricane Sandy savaged the region.
