The U.S. is now producing more livestock feed in ethanol co-products than the soybean crushing industry.

Renewable Fuels Association Vice President Geoff Cooper, recently said that the U.S. ethanol industry has produced enough dried distillers grains and other ethanol co-products that it now has surpassed the U.S. soybean crushing industry in feed production.

Cooper spoke at the U.S. Grains Council's recent Export Exchange and said that nearly 35 million metric tons of animal feed were produced in the 2011-2012 marketing year by the U.S. ethanol industry, according to an article by All About Feed (http://bit.ly/…). Approximately 25% of the ethanol co-products generated last year in the U.S. was exported to more than 50 countries, he said.
