Boater Wants to Purge Md. Marina of Ethanol

Boaters in Ocean Pines, Md. may be able to fill up with pure gasoline at the town's marina, according to the Bethany Beach Wave in Salisbury, Md.

It could mean fewer problems for boaters' watercraft and less money spent on repairs, according to the man who's been pushing the marina to use no-ethanol fuel.

Boater Stan Mawyer, who operates Chesapeake Yacht Services, told the Ocean Pines' board of directors that he has seen the damage that ethanol-blended fuel wreaks on boats.

As a service to boaters he said the marina should carry gasoline without ethanol.
