Baylor Professor to Convert cow Manure into Ethanol

Baylor University environmental science professor Larry Lehr has plans to build a manure-to-ethanol demonstration plant at a 400-head model dairy under construction at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, according to the Waco Tribune in Waco, Texas.

The project is being financed with a $250,000 Texas Emerging Technology grant. Lehr is applying for another $750,000 to build the plant next year.

The plant would run on methane from a manure digester, instead of fossil fuel.
