Special tax District for Ethanol Plant Dissolved

The Minnehaha County, S.D. Commission will eliminate a tax increment financing district originally designed to help a company build an ethanol plant near Sherman, S.D., according to KTIV Television in Sioux City, Iowa.

The commission voted unanimously Tuesday to dissolve the special district, which would have postponed the collection of property taxes.

Investors in the proposed Buffalo Ridge plant announced they no longer intend to build the plant.
