Proposed Trash-to-Ethanol Plant Safe with Proper Controls

A proposed $285 million garbage-to-ethanol plant for the town of Schneider, Ind. can be safe with the proper controls, according to a biotechnology researcher with Argonne National Laboratory, the Gary Post-Tribune in Gary, Ind. said.

Seth Snyder, leader of the Chemical and Biotechnology Section of Argonne's Energy Systems Division, who leads a team of 40 researchers, told the Post-Tribune that with proper management the plant will be a safe venture.
